Jay Electronica

After arriving on the hip hop scene over a decade ago and dropping a mixtape, a few loosies, and guest verses Jay Electronica finally gave us an album. A Written Testimony was released 13 March, 2020 to much anticipation. Signed to Jay-Z’s Roc Nation, this 10-track album still managed to capture the attention of his old fans and create new ones. With the exception of ‘Shiny Suit Theory’, the other tracks have guest appearances from Travis Scott, Jay-Z, and The Dream.

Two years after his packed show at Danforth Hall, The Academy was ready to bring him back to the stage - and then the pandemic hit. In hopes that we will be able to have concerts again in the fall, we have rescheduled our show at the Mod Club to 18 September, 2020. Opening are DijahSB, whom Jay invited to the stage at the Danforth, and Adam Bomb.
