On Thursday, May 28th, legendary Toronto rapper – and friend of The Academy – Adam Bomb will be performing live from his living room as part of the City of Toronto’s City Hall Live Online (CHLO) virtual concert series. The Legend Adam Bomb boasts a distinguished rep as one of the city’s most impactful and prolific emcees. He’s known for his work as a solo artist, a KOTD representative, and a member of three crews that put the city on their back: Empire, Freedom Writers, and Naturally Born Strangers (NBS).

Bomb’s made a name for himself with hard-hitting cuts like “My People” and “Wasted Talent”. As part of NBS, he teamed up with fellow Toronto luminaries Tona and Rich Kidd for an avant-garde audio/visual hip-hop project featuring art direction by iconic Toronto streetwear designer Bryan Espiritu and Legend’s League. With Freedom Writers, Bomb delivered politically-charged bars to energize a national hip-hop scene hungry for substance.

Adam’s versatility is evident, and has gone far from unnoticed. The Juno, MMVA, and SiriusXM Indie Award winner and Polaris Prize nominee was ranked in the top 15 of CBC Music’s Greatest Canadian Rappers Ever. Joined on stage by Toronto’s legendary DJ Law, his CHLO performance is not his first presented by The Academy. He also rocked a packed house at the Drake Underground for the 27th edition of our flagship event The Hustle. He’ll also be rocking the stage at the upcoming Jay Electronica concert, presented by The Academy on Friday, September 18th.

For now, you can catch him raising funds for the Unison Benevolent Fund, a charity that provides financial assistance to musicians and music industry workers, on Thursday, March 28th at 12:30pm from the convenience of your chosen electronic device. Just tune in to the CHLO Facebook page as you do your part and #StayHome!
